Privacy Policy

Redwing Connect is a networking community for Benet Academy alumni and current students. This policy explains what information we handle and why. We built this platform for our own community, not to monetize data — we don't sell or rent personal information to anyone, ever.

Information we collect

• Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo. Student accounts are identified by their @benet.org school email.
• Directory information. Alumni career profiles (name, education, employment history, location, skills) are compiled from publicly available professional listings. You can claim, edit, or update your listing after signing in.
• Profile edits. Anything you add to your own profile — headline, bio, contact preferences, photo.
• Messages. Messages you send to other members are stored so your conversations work across devices.

Safety monitoring — read this part

Because our community includes current high school students, every message is automatically screened by moderation software for harassment, sexual content, scams, and behavior that endangers minors. This screening is done by machines, not people. Community administrators cannot read your conversations — a message becomes visible to an administrator only if the screening system or another member flags it. Flagged messages are reviewed to keep the community safe, and accounts that violate our rules can be suspended.

Services we rely on

We use a small number of infrastructure providers to run the platform, each of which processes data only on our behalf: Supabase (database and authentication), Google (sign-in), OpenAI and Google Perspective (automated message screening), Anthropic (automated screening and profile summaries), and Resend (invitation email delivery).

Your choices and rights

• Delete your account anytime from My Profile → Account → Delete my account. This permanently removes your account, sign-in, and messages.
• Update your listing. Edit your profile anytime, or contact us to remove your directory listing entirely.
• Block members. Any member can block any other member; blocking severs contact in both directions.

Students and minors

Student accounts have additional protections: students can only be contacted in conversations the student started, student conversations receive heightened automated screening, and student profiles show name only.
